Do you have experience in a similar role within a PRU, SEN school/inclusion or children's residential home ?

The school who have two sites in East London specialise in providing day education for pupils in KS2 - KS5 with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (SEMH) and also pupils with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC).

You will be part of a team who work with students who are not currently based in mainstream due to social, emotional and mental health issues. This can be down to issues such as depression, trauma, low self-esteem and confidence, challenging behaviours and anxiety. It is therefore key to create a nurturing and caring atmosphere and environment for these students to feel safe and encouraged to learn.

We are looking for suitable candidates who are able to work 1:1 and can provide individual tuition with the aid of the class teacher and to carry out specific direct educational work with individual pupils.

No QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is required however the ability to deliver core subjects such as English, Maths and Science to a basic level would be desirable.

The ideal candidate will have:



* Knowledge of the National Curriculum
* Experience in working with pupils with Autistic Spectrum Condition
* Relevant qualifications and certified training courses relating to Education/ Social Work/ Youth Work.
* Understanding of, and interest in, working with young people.
* Knowledge and experience of the importance of cultural identity to children/young people.
