As a Performance & Calibration Engineer you will play a key role in a team of experienced specialist engineers that are responsible for electrical and systems performance and development of a range of machine platforms.

The role:Responsible for battery system electrical performance requirements, produce validation plans, and deliver validation tasksDevelop battery system performance maps and parameters using virtual and physical methodsCalibration and modelling of battery packInterpretate vehicle level requirements into battery system requirementsModel battery behaviour and estimate performance during drive cyclesDesign control strategies to meet performance and life targetsPerformance issue resolutionSupport BMS integrationSupport battery performance testingCreate Can configurations for test proceduresSupport Vehicle Integration
Through this role, the successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to take part in, and have significant responsibility for, the end-to-end design/development process for components and systems. This gives you true product ownership and the opportunity to see products through to volume production.
Essential experience:Strong technical background with a degree in relevant engineering discipline though other qualifications / progressive experience will be considered.Previous battery and engine knowledge and experience.Demonstrated component ownershipWorking with suppliersCreating / maintaining FMEAMatlab/SimulinkUnderstanding of CAN and ability to useExprience of typical BEV and PHEV battery system solutions and technologies.Experience of defining and/or using appropriate 1D and 3D CAE analysis tools to design, verify and optimise electrical performance.Strong people skills and the ability to work individually and in a cross functional teamWork experience to project manage a design through to production and manage several parts across multiple vehicle programmesProblem solving using standard 6-sigma templates and processes
