Planning Engineer

The Role

The role of the Project Controls Engineer is to provide, maintain and develop the project governance and control services for the site.

In this capacity, you will be responsible for ensuring all Projects are developed, planned and delivered in line with Company standards and internal budgetary constraints. Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will included, but not be limited to the following:



* Design and develop project control processes that meet the requirements respect to reporting, estimating, cost control, risk control, change control, project planning and document control.
* Ensure a suitable meeting structure is in place for all capital projects and facilitate this process for the works.
* Manage and deliver the workload for Project Controls (with the Engineering Services Manager and Senior Project Engineers)
* Develop materials and train the project team on site in Project Control processes
* Ensure that all work conforms to the relevant standards and guidance, taking corrective action where required.
* Manage the process for new stock numbers for all capital project spares.
* Participate in a best endeavours call out system and provide a reasonable amount of plant support outside normal working hours for projects.
* Participate in the site formal Management of Change process.
* Use transferable skills to assist with others on site to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of project work.
* Become the Project Department SAP expert.

The Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to be qualified in an engineering discipline, ideally to HNC level and have experience within the steel industry at an appropriate level.

We are looking for someone with prior project management experience and knowledge of project control techniques.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have advanced communication skills, with the ability to communicate with and influence individuals at all levels within the business.

In addition to this, you will also require the following:



* Strong IT Skills, with experience of using SAP
* Capability to facilitate and run meetings
* Team Working capabilities.
* Full Clean Driving License and passport, as some off site travel may be required.
