Plant Purchasing Lead required on a permanent basis to join an industry leading Manufacturing business.

Do you have experience of working through the end to end purchasing cycle? Are experienced in raising reqs, chasing suppliers, setting up SLA's, supplier performance reviews and vendor interaction? Have you got a experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment? If you are seeking an exciting technical challenge then this is the role for you!

You will play a key role in leading site indirect purchasing operations & management of site stores operations. You will play a key role within a dedicated, motivated and successful team which offers a dynamic working environment supporting major projects both internally and externally.

Key responsibilities:

Site Purchasing



* Administer the SAP Purchasing System for Coventry facility .
* Review and place orders for stock & non-stock indirect goods/services
* Liaise with Suppliers to ensure best cost and on-time deliveries.
* Manage all indirect suppliers to improve process efficiencies and implement cost reductions where possible
* Provide Purchasing service to all internal customers, providing appropriate feedback where possible
* Negotiate and contract where applicable service and maintenance contracts
* Collaborate with Global Purchasing Manager to develop a history of key consumable usage.
* Provide necessary support to Global initiatives
* Collaborate with Coventry Managers to target budget cost savings
* Challenge existing processes to affect more value added sollutions

Stores/Stock Control



* Manage all site Maintenance & Consumable Stores areas.
* Eg but not limited to Packaging, PPE, Grinding Wheels, Oils, Filter Papers, Stationery
* Carry out regular stock checks to a fixed timetable in all areas
* Stock optimization and control
* Work with Supervisors & Engineers to create new stock where required
* Receive stock and locate in correct storage facility

General



* Administration duties
* Assist Finance with invoice queries & Problem Resolution
* Provide absence/holiday cover for Direct material procurement
* Control Onsite Scrap/Waste disposal Process

Experience required:



* Previous experience in a similar role is essential
* Ideally you will be a qualified member CIPS
* Must have very strong coordination and interpersonal skills including excellent communication skills
* Microsoft Office skills essential
* Knowledge of SAP (Materials Management)
