Primary Music/Performing Arts Teacher

Required: August 2019

Location: Xi'an, China

Experience: At least 2 years post qualification experience for regular class teaching posts

Sponsorship: Single or married teaching couples (not suitable for those with children)

Salary: Top salary and package dependent upon experience.

Contract: 3 Years

School vision/Ethos:

This is a new school opening its doors to much fanfare in September 2019 initially to grades 1 and 2 but with plans to expand in to a through Primary to secondary school. This school is an international Chinese counterpart to a family of world renowned top British international schools in Asia and the UK.

This is an international school for Chinese nationals offering an enhanced Chinese and International curriculum developed by Chinese and international education experts and aim to prepare students for the 21st century world. This is a collaborative framework which provides a well-balanced programme consisting of the Chinese compulsory curriculum (G1 - G9) and leading international educational concepts and methodologies. It is the third of the schools to open with the first having opened very successfully in Shanghai in 2017 with Beijing and now Xian following.

Facilities are set to be superb. The buildings and facilities are purpose-designed and developed by one of Xi'an's leading developers. The campus plot is surrounded by high-end residential condominiums.

Location overview:

Xi'an is an historic former ancient capital of the People's Republic of China. Famed as the start of the Silk Road and as home of the Terracotta Warriors. It is considered one of the cultural heartlands of China. This is an immensely varied and interesting city with a rich history. This modern city has a population of over 12 million persons and is the commercial and cultural heart of the surrounding Shaanxi Province. Xi'an has historically been a cross-roads city, both within China, and for traders from across the Asian continent. As such, it provides a wide variety of architectural styles, historical sites, culinary tastes and lifestyle experiences.

Requirements:

You will be teaching Music Initially to the Primary students - however as the school grows so will the opportunity to teach up. An ability to also offer some Drama and/or Art teaching at this level is desirable.

You should have a minimum of two years post qualifying teaching experience and this should ideally include knowledge and experience in an inquiry based curriculum (for example PYP). The successful candidate will be a highly committed team player who is keen to contribute to the development of this new and rapidly expanding and forward-looking school. You should be student centred in your approach and previous EAL teaching experience is highly desirable. Applicants must be willing to play a full part in the school's pastoral care and extra-curricular programme.
