This top level international school is part of a family of UK curriculum schools and combines over 400 years of educational excellence with a modern approach and first-rate facilities. The Shanghai school opened its doors to much fanfare in August 2016 and is a day and boarding school for students aged 2-18.
Students are expected to be fully involved and achieve their best in academic studies, extra-curricular activities and House events. The curriculum for Early Years is based on the EYFS curriculum while Pre-Prep is based on the National Curriculum of England with flavours of the International Primary Curriculum evident. Similarly, Prep is based on the UK National Curriculum with the International Middle Years Curriculum influencing curriculum themes and learning approaches. The focus of the Upper School curricula is iGCSE and A-levels.

The school is looking for high-calibre professionals to work with a first class team of educators, the ability to work in a new school environment and be a team player is essential.
As there is a strong emphasis in the other phases of the school on activities outside of the classroom, there is an expectation that all teachers make an effective and varied contribution to the extra-curricular programme. Students are mostly English second language and therefore previous EAL experience or prior international teaching experience is warmly welcomed.
In addition as the successful candidate you should also:
- have a minimum of 2 years experience post-qualification teaching KS2 at primary level, preferably within a UK curriculum school
- be a fully qualified teacher (UK QTS or equivalent)
- be able to provide references for at least the last 2 years of teaching work
- have no criminal history and be able to pass a background check
- be a proficient English speaker
- possess good classroom management skills
- be a citizen of the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the USA or Canada for visa requirements
