Principal Planner - Major Projects

*Inner London borough* *£30-35 per hour PAYE* *2 roles available* *Flexible working*

Are you a town planner who has experience of working on major applications who is looking for a new role? Our client are a prestigious inner London Local Authority who due to an increase in work load have a need to take on an additional 2 officers on long term ongoing contract.

The key functions of the roles are managing caseloads associated with Major Planning Applications, including making recommendations, and representing the Council at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries. The roles include policy development and interpretation, negotiating high quality outcomes and supporting the decision-making processes of the Planning Authority.

You will have knowledge of Development Management planning and a full understanding of the processes in delivering the statutory planning service in a local planning authority. We are looking for dynamic, positive and hardworking individuals, with extensive relevant experience of dealing with major applications preferably in inner London authorities. You should also be fully up to date with fast-changing London and national planning policy, development management practices, guidance and legislation.

Previous experience at Principal level is not essential however you would need to have worked on large major applications, ideally for a London borough
