Are you looking to work in a rural county as a Principal Planning Officer? Our client located in South of England is looking for an experienced planning officer to come in and hit the ground running. This would be a superb opportunity to build upon your planning knowledge and the client is willing to give flexibility on the work hours and working from home. The rate for this role will be between £30-£40 per hour depending on the candidates experience and how they come across at the the interview. The suitable candaite would need to drive for site visits. The contract will be for an initial 3 months with the view to extend there after

This role for a Principal Planning Officer will fall inside the IR35 scope, the client is looking for someone to report to the Principal Team Leader and deal with various development management duties to a professional standard, and organise workloads and also meet deadlines in accordance with the department's performance indicators. The client would also expect you to assess and make recommendations on planning applications, including various major/complex projects.

The main responsibilities of this role will be:

- Prepare delegated reports on development proposals.

- Prepare committee reports and present recommendations to the Development Control Committee and other committees and working parties.

- Represent the Council at Planning Inquiries as the planning witness and represent the Council at Hearings.

- Carry out pre-application discussions and negotiations with applicants, developers and their agents.
