Private Sector Housing Enforcement Officer

Are you looking to work closer to home? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Private Sector Housing Enforcement Officer based in a Local Authority in Essex.

Post: Private Sector Housing Enforcement Officer

Rate:



* £30 per hour (temp)
* £30,000 - £36,000 (perm)

The main duties of the role are as follows;



* To undertake inspections, surveys and other investigations of residential properties in the private sector under housing and related legislation, as directed.
* To undertake investigations and enquiries; producing reports, work schedules and correspondence as are required, both on a routine basis and when specially requested by a Senior Officer.
* To represent the Council in respect of the job holder's day to day involvement with the public or representatives of outside bodies, as required.
* To undertake tasks outside normal hours of an emergency, nature, or planned activities necessary to provide an effective service.

Requirements



* Qualified Environmental Health Officer, registered with the CIEH Registration Board or qualified housing surveyor with a recognised relevant qualification in that field (HNC/HND or RICS approved degree or similar).
* Certified as competent to conduct Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) surveys/assessments.
* Knowledge of various HMO enforcement practices and legislation.
* Experience of surveying of residential properties, including compilation of inspection notes, and other relate records.
