Process Development Engineer - Wicklow

Are you looking for a new role outside of Dublin ? Or to join a leading business who are expanding in various sites throughout the country?

If so we are now looking for a Process Development Engineer with API experience for a new role based in Wicklow.

The Process Development Engineer takes responsibility and ownership for all activities associated with their assigned processes.

Their overarching goal is to assist the successful optimization, scale-up and tech transfer of API processes and associated technologies to commercial manufacture.

The successful process development engineer will contribute to the following:

- Support process development/familiarisation, scale-up and transfer of API processes into manufacturing including conducting hands-on laboratory experiments as required.
- Work with internal teams and Commercial Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs) to deliver high quality chemical processes for API delivery.
- Play an active role in process troubleshooting and development of continuous process improvement projects.
- Provide support for the development of first/second generation technology through collaboration with Veterinary Medicine Research and Development (VMRD).

You will be responsible for;

- Support process & facility start-up initiatives at the site.
- Assist with technology transfer of API processes, including process fit, identification of equipment needs, and facility modifications.
- Collaborate closely with Operations colleagues in the preparation of Master Batch Records and execution of process HAZOPs for tech transfer of API processes.
- Use technical knowledge in chemical engineering unit operations including reaction chemistry, hydrogenations, distillations, separations, crystallisation, drying, milling and process safety to support GMT, Operations and Safety colleagues.
- Develop expertise using tools like DynoChem for data fitting, heat transfer characterisation of plant reactors, mass transfer/hydrogenation modelling as well as modelling for solubility / crystallisation process development, and reaction kinetics data fitting as required.
- Conduct laboratory experiments to generate technical data to support scale-up and implementation of API processes into manufacturing.
- Based on needs, develop and introduce new chemical engineering techniques, methods and laboratory scale technologies to the GMT laboratories.
