Position: Procurement Officer

Location: Dartford, Kent

Contract type: Permanent

Start date: September 2019

Salary: £30,000-£38,000 (DOE) + Car allowance, Pension & Healthcare

The Contractor:

A diverse portfolio of civil engineering schemes ranging from road improvements, concrete repairs & reinstatements, paving repairs and specialist framework projects.

The Role:

With an excellent reputation in the region, this main contractor is actively seeking a Procurement Officer to join their team.

This role will be site based and whilst this contractor covers all aspects of civil engineering, you will be working on a highways project.

You will be responsible for:



* Liaising with sub-contractors
* Ordering relevant materials, signs, office equipment etc.
* Reviewing procurement schedules with senior team members
* Negotiating costs with various parties
* Drawing up contracts
* Responsible for work package change control and management
* Responsible for project re-measure

Requirements:



* Extensive procurement experience
* Civil Engineering background
* Excellent IT and maths skills are essential
* Attention to detail
* Excellent report writing and negotiation skills are essential
