Are you an experienced Manufacturing/Production Supervisor/Team Leader/Manager within the automotive/manufacturing industry looking for your next opportunity? Do you want to work for a UK market leader?

We are currently recruiting a production manager to join our existing client in Smethwick. You will be working in a medium sized company, in a clean and friendly work environment. This is a lovely company and a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business.

Your responsibilities as a production manager



* Produce Monthly/Weekly/Daily Production plans and schedules in spreadsheet form
* Oversee a team of 10-12 production operatives.
* Formulating and implementing processes based on LEAN thinking
* Overseeing staff milling, drilling, turning and welding.
* Attending daily production meetings.
* Writing and implementing processes.
* Monitoring timings, job cards etc.
* Liaising with managers of other depts. i.e. Stores, R&D etc.
* Looking at quality of work produced.
* Maximising productivity.
* Keeping all relevant parties and department informed.
* Monitoring the quality of work produced, implementing corrective actions
* Implementation and evolution of Kanban system
* Prepare weekly analysis of Schedule Adherence
* Staff assessments - Appraisals / disciplinary

Your skills/ experience



* Experience as a Production Team Leader/Supervisor/ Manager within the Automotive/ Engineering or Manufacturing industry
* Experience managing a team of at least 10 people
* A proven track record of managing a team
* Familiar with LEAN methodology and experience implementing
* Experience in writing and implementing processes
* A solid understanding of the manufacturing process
* Strong technical engineering experience
* Understanding CAD drawings and Engineering Drawings
* KanBan System experience
* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a logical way of thinking are essential.
* Exceptional written and verbal skills

* £27,000 - £30,000 depending upon experience
