Production Planner required on a contract basis to join an industry leading engineering and manufacturing business.

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity at the forefront of off highway machine technology? Do you have a background strategically controlling the build / production planning of vehicles or similar complex assemblies? Have you got experience of working in a fast paced Production / Engineering environment? If you are seeking an exciting technical challenge then this is the role for you!

As the production planner you will be responsible for regularly reviewing incoming orders, sales forecasts and supply constraints, in conjunction with the sales admin department, materials planning, sales and production, and adjust build plans as appropriate to enable the closest match of demand and supply. Develop annual build plans for each line based on history, sales patterns and sales forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review sales orders and plan into production, ensuring the order is evaluated in regard to priority, capacity, materials, product mix, batch quantity, lead-times etc.
* Review and maintain production work schedules, ensuring that capacity constraints observed and updated, order loading is balanced and is in line with quarterly capacity planning targets.
* Ensure delivery dates are accurate and regularly reviewed.
* Review overdue manufacturing orders and materials and work with customer / sales admin team and production to ensure high customer satisfaction.
* Review material levels and safety stock levels, effects of forecast and customer orders
* Review / awareness of product revision changes.
* You will create and maintain accurate reporting.
* Combine Fusion PCO and Production WiP sheets to create the running shipping reports for vehicles.

Experience & Skills required:

* Capable of learning new processes through watching, and asking questions
* Able to think logically
* Very good excel skills (Pivot tables essential)
* Good relationship skills, to build trust with peers
* Not afraid to ask questions
* Flexible, and comfortable with ambiguity
* Working knowledge of Oracle highly desired but not essential
