Position: Project Engineer, Capital Projects

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 p.a.

Working within a niche sector within the pharmaceutical industry, we have an opportunity for a Project Engineer within our Capital Projects Team reporting to the Capital Projects Manager. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop themselves and learn new skills that could see them enjoy a highly successful career within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

Roles and Responsibilities :

To successfully manage assigned capital project portfolio, following BPL's capital project policy and defined stage gates.

* Be professionally accountable for all aspects of assigned projects.
* Manage Cap-Ex Projects, from inception to completion in accordance to BPL's project policy and stage gate process.
* Work effectively as a both as a team member and a team leader to effectively deliver the project objectives of scope, budget, programme.
* Develop and deliver accurate and professional business cases to support capital project proposals.
* Produce and communicate to all stakeholders regular forecasts of budget and schedule.
* Develop project cost estimates and maintain cost accuracy throughout project life cycle.
* Develop fixed project budgets and provide accurate project spend forecast and manage financial project spend throughout project life cycle.
* Define, monitor and maintain project programmes through design, construction, commissioning and validation phases to agreed completion targets.
* Be flexible and accountable to deliver projects in tight timelines with high precision, e.g. during shutdowns.
* Comply with health and safety rules, regulations and BPL policy's and SOPs in an effective and timely manner.
* Efficiently use health and safety risk assessments, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, work permit in projects as applicable.
* Consistent and timely compliance to BPL's quality management policy, QA risk assessment and change control.
* Provide effective Communication to stake holders at different levels.
* Develop and maintain a details project Risk, Action, Decision log through project life cycle.

Essential Skills :

* Substantial experience of cap-ex project management in regulated industries; eg. Pharmaceutical or Healthcare. Excellent project management and organisational skills
* Experience of financial planning, reporting and budgeting
* A good knowledge of a wide range of engineering disciplines
* You must be able to show where you have delivered projects within a Pharmaceutical environment
* Show where you have delivered a project and how you have saved money from the budget or saved time in the delivery of the project
