We have a fantastic Locum Social Work Opportunity based within an Adoption Team in the Blackpool area.

Responsibilities:



* Recruit, prepare and assess families wanting children, both within and outside of the organisation
* Support adopters at the adoption panel and provide matching and post-placement support
* Manage a caseload of children for whom adoption is the plan
* Work alongside safeguarding social workers and complete any parallel planning tasks;
* Source and facilitate concurrency placements and complete Child Permanence Reports
* Ensure family-finding is started at the earliest opportunity and support with the collation of life story work;
* Assume responsibility for family-finding following the conclusion of care proceedings (where the plan is for adoption)
* Prepare children for placement, supervising placements up to the making of an Adoption Order
* Undertake assessments as part of the post-adoption support offer to children and families
* Identify appropriate support services via the Adoption Support Fund or other organisations, to ensure our adopted children realise their potential
* Facilitate the post-adoption mailbox and liaise with relevant parties, offering support as necessary


To be considered for the Social Worker role you must:



* Have 1-3 years experience of working within a similar service
* Have experience of recruiting, preparing and assessing families and supporting adopters
* Work well individually and within a team
* Have experience of working with external agencies related to the adoption process
