    Are you an experienced Social Worker? Yes? Do you have experience in Child Protection and Safeguarding? Yes? Randstad are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join Blackburn and Darwen Council's Safeguarding and Child Protection team.

    This is a full time role, offering hybrid working with a fantastic pay rate of between £35 and £38 per hour, DOE.

    Responsibilities:

    • You will have some IT skills and be required to keep recording up to date on our Protocol LCS system
    • You will be able to prioritise your workload, be a team worker and have good communication skills
    • Effectively discharge Local Authority Statutory duties in relation to: Children in need; Children in need of protection; Children looked after and subject to care proceedings; Children awaiting adoptive placements.
    • Undertake child and family assessments
    • Together with service users and/or their parents or carers, produce an outcome focussed SMART plan
    • Provide support, guidance, advice and services to families
    • Work as part of a multi-agency team to deliver the appropriate plan to children on your caseload
    • Promote the welfare of children and young people in accordance with the Children Act 1989 criteria
    • Ensure that the views of children and young people are represented at each stage
    • Carry out the duties of the post in accordance with the Council's diversity policy
    • Fulfill personal requirements where appropriate with regard to Council policies and procedures, particularly Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Customer Care, Emergency Evacuation

    Requirements:

    • Social Work Degree
    • Current registration with Social Work England
    • Enhanced dbs
    • Access to own car
