Are you an experienced Social Worker within Children's Social Services? Are you passionate about ensuring the families you work with receive the help they need? If so, together for children Sunderland are looking for a Social Worker to join their Locality Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a possible 3 month contract with a view to extend this further.

You will be working within a supportive team with a committed leadership team which is focused on improving the outcomes of families across Sunderland.

As a Social Worker on the Locality Team, you will be responsible for managing an assigned caseload of children & families, investigating complaints of alleged neglect, abuse of children.

This is a full time role which is 37 hours per week. The majority of staff work 5 days per week however, Flexible working hours are available.

As a Social Worker on the looked after children's team you will be responsible for:

Carrying a complex case-load and maintaining accurate, up to date files
Investigate neglect, abuse and ill treatment of children.
Working directly with families, children and young people of a set age range
Carrying out initial / core assessments and reviews
Report writing
Setting high standards is key and must deliver excellent practice, motivating all staff to do the same.

The minimum requirements for this role are:
