job description

Due to expansion our client in Shrewsbury are looking to take on an assistant/ intermediate Quantity Surveyor.

With a rich history in residential construction of both new build and refurbishment/ regeneration projects they've seen a massive increase in work load this year and are subsequentley looking to bolster their commercial team.

Each Quantity Surveyor will be allocated a number of current and future new sites for which they will be responsible with support from Project QS/QS Manager.

Cost Reporting

Carrying out Monthly Project valuations for all allocated projects

Produce accurate monthly cost reports for the Managing Quantity Surveyor

Work closely with the site team to understand and communicate project cost issues including encouraging the site team to issue variations

Bills of Quantities

Drawing take off

Timely BOQ production

Accuracy of description

Updated to current costs and quotes

Amend bills of quantities to allow for company, subcontract, site and sales variations

- Drawing amendments

- Specification changes

- Material and subcontract price variations

- Omissions and errors

Subcontract Supply and Fix LabourEnquiries

Health & Safety and commercial checks

Price negotiation

Placing orders

Attending initial start-up and progress meetings as required

Invoice checking and payment

Specialist Subcontractor

Enquiry, Instruction and coordination:

Ground Improvement - Piling, Vibro etc.

Asbestos

Demolition

Direct and Labour Only Subcontractors

Issuing works orders

Checking and payment of timesheets

Ensuring correct coding

Recording and issuing variation orders on unpriced day works

Material Invoices

Checking delivery tickets for correct coding

Sales

Providing costed Sales Variations

Processing agreed Sales Variations
