Our client is looking to recruit an intermediate level QS to join a highly motivated Commercial Team working along side a Commercial Manager, Lead Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyors, 2 Intermediate and a couple of Assistant / Trainee level Surveyors.
The client is well known for delivering quality developments up to 500 units of Traditional and Timber frame houses and apartment across Kent. They are busy and getting busier hence the requirement for a new team member.
Candidates will need to come from a contracting or residential background but will need to have worked in a busy commercial environment before and have the transferable Surveying skills.
The ideal candidate will either be an experienced Assistant wanting to take the step up and be responsible for a single site with the support of Senior Staff or a more advanced Intermediate candidate that is looking to push on to the next level in the next year.
Duties will include:Preparing trade scope and worksPreparing selected tender list for approvalCollation and issue of subcontract tendersPrepare subcontractors appointment and proposal documentsHolding and taking minutes of Subcontract Post-Tender and Pre-Order Meetings.Preparing subcontract documentation for signing by both parties in accordance with BH's Call Off Contract procedure.Certifying subcontractor paymentsAssessing variations with subcontractorProducing subcontractor instruction/variation reportsPreparing final account with subcontractorsAssisting with Surveyors monthly cost reportsAttending Design Team Meetings as requiredAttending subcontractor progress meetings as requiredAssisting in production of contractual letters to subcontractors when requestedAssisting Project team with financial implications of site progress decisionsScheduling of directly procured materials to assist buying departmentMeasurement of elements incorporated into designs to establish value and extent of worksAssist Commercial department with compliance to business core objectives
