This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with Randstad. You will be supporting children and young people (aged 10-18) who are dealing with complex social, emotional, and behavioural issues, often stemming from past trauma. Your role is vital in guiding them through their journey-from secure services to residential care, and ultimately to a positive transition back to family, independent living, or adult support services. It's a challenging, rewarding path, and your dedication will be the key to their progress.

A successful residential childcare worker will responsible for:
- Encouraging the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of the children in the service
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with children in the service and acting as a key worker to children
- Utilise positive behaviour techniques
- Coordinating with teachers, social workers and wider care team to monitor and advance the needs of young people
- Maintaining professional manner and working to National Care Standards
- Promoting participation in education and life skills programmes
To be successful in your application, you will:
- Have previous experience working in a care setting with young people
- Experience in a secure setting is beneficial, but not essential
- Have knowledge of cognitive behavioural approaches, attachment theory and child protection policy
- Have experience advocating on behalf of a young person
- Register under the PVG scheme
- Full driving licence
