job description

Are you looking for a great career opportunity? Are you sympathetic to the needs of others? Do you thrive at making a difference to the lives of young people with learning disabilities and Autism? Then I have the role for you.

A highly specialised school with four associated children's homes, specialising in dealing with services users ages 6-19 years old, is looking for a new support worker to join their team. This service has been designed to provide care and education to services users with low-to-high levels of autism and significant learning difficulties, and champions a strong ethos of positive behaviour support.

The service is based at a relaxed setting located next to the amazing Astley Park, allowing residents and staff alike to enjoy nature. The homes themselves will be situated around Preston and Layland: the company supports service users from a variety of nearby towns and cities.

Benefits:
* Online benefits and cashback rewards
* Flexible working hours
* Dental care insurance
* SMART childcare vouchers
* Full training
* A cycle to work scheme
* Free DBS cost coverage (if applicable)

Roles and responsibilities:
* Support and guide the service-users through challenging times
* Demonstrate confidence in de-escalating tense situtions
* Engage in physical, social and emotional activities with the service users, helping to build confidence and social skills
* Safeguard and promote the well-being of the service users at all times
* Assist service users with daily routines, supporting them in cooking, cleaning and conducting personal care
* Build positive professional working relationships with service users

If you feel you have the credentials and passion to fulfil this role, we would love to hear from you.
