A Specialist day/residential school in North Lancashire (LS6) is looking for a resilient Residential Day Support Worker to join their team on a permanent, full time basis.

The school is a co-educational, independent, specialist day and residential school on the North Yorkshire, Lancashire border providing high quality education and care for children between the ages of 7 and 18. The school meets the needs of a diverse group of pupils exhibiting social, emotional and mental health needs, alongside a range of other associated conditions.
Reporting to the Head of Care, you will play a key role in the establishment, maintenance and development of the environment and climate of the school, therefore providing the young people group living experience conducive to emotional security, personal happiness and growth.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be actively involved in planning and participating in the homes recreational and social programme, whilst also providing the young people with guidance and counselling of a p[ersonal and social nature.
Experience isn't essential, but the right candidate must have the ability to build a rapport with young people. In many cases, the residents' behaviour can be difficult or challenging. This means you need to be patient, calm and resilient. The school will also provide training for a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
