        An exciting contract opportunity has arisen for a Risk Consultant to join our client with the responsibility of managing FOI requests, in particular to draft responses in accordance with its legal obligations. Responsibilities:Act as a first point of contact for FOI requests and other queries, referring requests onward where appropriateLog and maintain FOI correspondence on FOI register and case filesTriage and allocate requests and maintain regular contact with teams to monitor progress in producing a response. Escalate any slippages in response times in accordance with agreed operating proceduresCollect, collate, analyse and check the validity of information received in response to FOI requests to ensure accurate and timely response. This may include dealing with distressing, highly confidential, contentious and complex information requiring analytical skillsDraft FOI responses and review responses produced by others. Issue final responses when approvedLiaise with 1LoD, Directors and Managing Directors, Legal and Communications, on FOI requests and responses, as and when requiredAnalyse requests and report on to help ensure consistency in approach to responsesWrite and / or review response template letters based on best practice (e.g. ICO decision notices) Knowledge and experience:Public Sector experience with good working knowledge of FOI lawKnowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 is essential as is practical experience in the use of exemptions such as sections 22, 31, 40, 41 and 43Minimum of 3 years practical experience handling FOIA requests and writing responsesExperience handling complex requests, especially where the information being requested has been provided by third parties, i.e. contractors If you have similar experience managing FOI requests to that outlined above, please forward your CV today.Randstad Financial & Professional encourage applications from individuals of all ages & backgrounds.
