As a registered manager, you are in charge of a care home according to the legal guidelines of the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Your job is to oversee the day-to-day management of care services, including delivering care and developing care plans. Aside from coordinating medical treatment for patients, you also oversee the organisation's operational activities, such as recruiting employees and assigning duties.

To become a registered manager, obtain a bachelor’s degree in health or social care management. You can also join the role with a nursing degree or a Level 5 Diploma in leadership management and adult care. If you want to specialise in child or young adult care, you can find tailored courses. You should also register with the CQC to become a registered manager.
