Data Centre Sales Specialist


Total Package £120,000

12 months FTC potentially extended by a further 6 months.

A Global IT reseller is looking for a Data Centre Sales Specialist to join their team. You will be focused on driving sales and growing revenue on Cisco Software Defined Networking and HyperConverged Data Centre.

Your main roles and responsibilities will be:

* To own, cultivate and drive the go-to-market strategy & engagement around the nominated Cisco DC Products and Solutions.
* Maximize revenue growth by driving close partnerships both internally & externally and aligning the Cisco growth objectives with the company.
* To manage and nurture the existing relationships.
* Establish new relationships within Cisco & the company & externally within the client/prospect base.
* Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives/KPI's.
* Work in close partnership with the internal Sales teams that are based in a variety of offices around the UK and Overlay teams to identify new opportunities.
* Drive proactive development of converged pipe/funnel. In particular, growing the Revenue for Cisco HyperFlex and Software Defined Networking (ACI)
* To own the execution of the business plan against defined milestones & metrics.
* Maintain and own any certification requirements that support the vendor accreditation requirements.
* Understand and promote all relevant programs and promotions to maximize sales opportunities.

The ideal Data Centre Sales Specialist will have:

* A demonstrable track record of a successful sales career, consistent track record of high performance and be capable to lead executive engagements.
* Strong interpersonal and management skills and a proven track record in building relationships.
* The ability to deliver sales results through management
* Extensive sales, account management experience gained within the IT industry
* Knowledge of HyperConverged and SDN technologies - not necessarily with Cisco but other similar vendors is acceptable
* Ability to drive sales through leadership
* Communication & customer management skills
* Excellent ability to communicate and build relationships
* Able to understand and articulate requirements
* Strong planning, organization and reporting skills
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Good general business acumen.
* A high-level business understanding of converged technology, data management & protection, Public / Private / Hybrid Cloud

Although this role is a sales role and doesn't require you to have extensive technical knowledge a strong understand is preferred for the specialist/ overlay role.

Therefore the ideal person will have the following technical skills:

Computer skills: Must be adept in the use of MS Office or later, particularly Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
Keen to learn new technologies. Understanding of IT products favourable.
High Literacy and Numeracy skills.
Understanding of data centre technology from Hypervisor down
Understanding of Cisco Data Centre Products, Solutions and Services
Passion for Technology around new Innovation, capable to lead technology discussion without having to be the deep expert

Other personal skills that are highly desirable are:

Motivated and driven with a view to developing your career
Competitive, results-oriented, assertive and determined
Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing at senior management level
Reliable, tolerant, and dependable under pressure. Able to work to deadlines.
Ability to self motivate and work alone, but also a team-player
Strong negotiation and influencing skills

This role is already being completed and is already bringing in several million for the organisation and therefore because of the strength of this, the role has become available to have a specialist in this particular area.
Interviews will be a 2- 3 stage process and will involve a meeting with the technical team to assess your technical knowledge to ensure you are able to become the sales specialist and drive sales forward.

You will be working with the 250+ account managers to drive sales in this area and work collaboratively to achieve the individual goals as well as the wider organisations goals.
