ROLE

Randstad Education are currently assisting a Secondary School in West Lancashire to recruit for a temporary part-time School Administrator with a working knowledge of the School Information Management System (SIMS). You will be primarily responsible for staff cover, both planned and emergency. The post is part-time 5 days per week, 4 hours every morning 8.00am to 12.00pm, making 20 hours in total. Candidates MUST have previous experience of working in an educational establishment, as you will be expected to hit the ground running and deliver a high standard of work without a great deal of training.

REQUIREMENTS

As the successful applicant, you will have:

- Excellent administrative and ICT skills including SIMS experience within a school environment

- Organisational skills and the ability to multi-task

- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing

- The ability to work with high levels of tact, confidentiality and discretion

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a great opportunity to work as part of a successful school support team within a fast-paced office environment. Responsibilities would include:

- Handling face to face and telephone enquiries from staff, parents, external agencies and members of the general public

- Managing the cover process for absent staff, from taking messages to utilising the SIMS system to record staff absence and plan cover lessons for existing staff, booking external agency staff when required

- Assisting teachers and senior leadership team with data on pupil records and various other reports from the SIMS system

- General reception duties including overseeing access to the building for visitors, including safeguarding procedures

- Photocopying, post, filing and general administrative support
