A school network administrator is required for a permanent placement in an outstanding school in Wakefield. This is a permanent full time post to start immediately. The school are ideally looking for someone who has worked in a school or similar setting and has experience of a school environment.

Job Purpose:
*To provide ICT Support to both Junior and Senior schools (next to one another). You will have a focus on high quality support, whether in the classroom, supporting teachers with tech or within the ICT Support offices, working with the ICT Support Team on day-to-day support requests and projects. You will support the ICT infrastructure, including audio/visual resources, mobile devices and wireless systems for all staff, pupils and visitors attending the school.
*To provide first and second line support for all hardware and software on the school network.
*To support and maintain the ICT infrastructure (including audio/visual resources and wireless systems) for all staff, pupils and visitors attending the High School and, when required, the Junior School.
*To manage the ICT resources including mobile devices at WGHS.
*Assist Senior Network Administrator in training staff on the apprentice programme
Technical / Network Administration

Technical Experience
Maintain the 600+ computers, laptops, Chromebooks and mobile devices that are connected to the network.
Administration of the Windows desktop environment( Window 7, 10) including Bios; Command Line diagnostics; System properties; taskbar; windows properties; control panel; user access control; Administrative tools.
Troubleshoot software and hardware including: scanners, printers, AV equipment, interactive whiteboards, and projection systems - seeking advice when appropriate.
General network administration, specifically to include User Management, Access Control and Security for senior school pupils including Windows Active Directory; securing files or folders with permissions; setting who has the right to access files and folders; creating user groups; understand user profiles and setting permissions; manage pupil and staff passwords.

Assist in managing the network infrastructure to meet the Foundation's requirements, including active network components such as switches, wireless access points, keep the network. operating system up to date and contribute to the maintenance of network workstations
Assist in implementing the Foundation's security (including anti-virus) and back-up systems and disaster recovery contingencies to enable an efficient return of service after any unforeseen system outages.
Assist in the management of Internet access filtering, email filtering and related monitoring systems.
Provide first and second line level support for staff and students at WGHS including troubleshooting on PCs, peripherals, mobile devices and applications. Advise on compatibility of hardware, applications and operating systems, according to user requirements.
Assist in supporting and maintaining the Foundation computer platforms including backups of network servers including: Network Applications Servers, Network Clients, Multi-Function Devices.
Maintain network operations and software applications for the purpose of ensuring efficient operations, including distribution of software over the network to workstations.
Assist in maintaining elements of internet based resources including: Google, Office 365.

Knowledge of Windows desktop environment (Win 7, 10)
Knowledge of network administration including User Management, Access Control, Security and Active Directory
Knowledge of cabling infrastructure and supporting a network
Knowledge of AV installation/configurations
Understanding of data protection requirements.
Understanding of health, safety and welfare regulations and best practice affecting ICT

At least 18 months' experience of Windows desktop management (Win 7, 10)
Experience of installing and configuring computer hardware and software
Experience of supporting networks including Security and Active Directory
