Are you currently looking for work in a Pupil Referral Unit? Do you want to pursue a meaningful career with hard to reach young people? Do you have the skill-set required to get through to children expressing challenging behaviours and learning difficulties? If yes, this may be the role for you!

A well-established Pupil Referral Unit in Wakefield is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible on a part-time basis. This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a progressive school with an ethos of working with the students in a positive and encouraging way to help them achieve their full potential.

The successful applicant will have a patient and caring disposition and the ability to quickly build meaningful relationships with students and their staff team. They must also have the experience, patience and understanding to deal with students displaying aggression and difficult behaviour.

Working proactively with other staff members at the school
Ensuring the safeguarding of students at all times
Assisting with KS3 and 4 tuition

Requirements:
Experience of working with young people with SEMH/SEBD/SEND needs
The ability to manage challenging behaviour with comfort and ease
The ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people
Creativity, a proactive nature and flexibility in your supporting style
The ability to provide a nurturing and caring connection with vulnerable students
