Secondary Art Teacher

Required: August 2019

School Vision / Ethos:

This is one of the most established and highly regarded British curriculum schools in Bangkok with links to its well known UK counterpart. The school has 1700 students from Early Years to Sixth Form, exceptional examination results and particular strengths in the creative arts, design and sport. The school itself enjoys a delightful and spectacular setting, right on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in the heart of Bangkok.

Location Overview:

Bangkok itself is a well known mecca in South East Asia and a tourist hotspot. It is the dictionary definition of a melting pot and is a fantastic location in which to live and work with all that South East Asia has to offer on its doorstep.


The successful applicant is expected to teach a full timetable of up to 48 periods (55 minutes / 10 day cycle), as well as commit fully to the extra-curricular life of the school. All Senior School teachers are also assigned to a year level for pastoral support for 30 minutes per day. The school are looking for an innovative, well-qualified graduate to teach KS3, IGCSE, AS and A2 level Art. The candidate needs to be an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to motivate and inspire students, whilst providing a supportive and dynamic learning environment. The subject is well established, popular and enjoys outstanding results at all levels with students regularly winning the 'Top in the World' awards from CIE over the last few years. Students are encouraged to work in a range of media and there are annual visits to local galleries and other areas of interest for all year groups. The department currently consists of two full-time members of staff working alongside the Head of Art as well as two full-time support staff and an Artist in Residence..
