School Vision / Ethos: This was the first British curriculum school in Yangon and is a K - 12 school offering good facilities to over 735 teachers from 52 nationalities. Every class has an externally trained international teacher, an experienced Myanmar class teacher and at least one assistant teacher currently undergoing training. This allows for a high ratio of teachers to students, and really promotes an East meets West teaching philosophy.

Location Overview: Yangon is Myanmar's largest city and its economic hub. It's a fascinating city which blends British heritage with Burmese, Chinese and Indian influences. It's a typical bustling Asian city. It is very well known for its colonial architecture and is a real mix of old and new as the city has developed with the influx of private industry and investment and the population has now reached 5 million. However it is worth noting that this is still very much a developing country with all of the challenges that this can present. This is a fascinating place to live within an amazing culture at the heart of South East Asia - with all of the regions delights on your doorstep. Some of the world's most beautiful beaches are nearby and weekends can be spent exploring the likes of Mandalay. Further afield is the gateway to all that the Far East has to offer.

Requirements: The school seeks dedicated, hardworking professional teachers who are interested in living and furthering their careers in a fascinating location. 2 years post qualifying experience is preferred however those teachers with less experience may be considered. Teachers should be flexible, adaptable and open to the fact that Myanmar is an emerging country and should appeal to those teachers who truly want to make a difference in the world of education in this fascinating and rapidly developing location.

Package: The school offers a good salary given the extreme low cost living in Yangon and is from $31,000 US ip to $38,000 US per annum dependent upon experience and with increments each year if performance management targets are met plus annual flight allowance. accommodation allowance, annual flight allowance, and medical cover.
