A lovely specialised school in the Brighton area is looking for a dedicated and passionate Art teacher to fill a full time permanent position starting from September 2018. This school is well known for its unique approach to learning and is constantly focusing on development of the students and the school. The students have Social, Emotional and Behaviour difficulties. The school also supports students whose well being is affected by Asperger's or Tourette's syndrome. You will be teaching in their primary and secondary unit.

Key Responsibilities:

* A keen interest in arts and crafts activities.
* Creativity and imagination.
* An interest and experience working with students with EBD.
* Possess and maintain a deep and secure knowledge of your subject and the open mindedness to try a more hands on approach to the curriculum.
* Create a challenging and stimulating classroom climate that will motivate pupils to learn, think independently, take risks, empathise with others, and perform to the best of their abilities.
* Be aware of the learning needs of the pupils you teach and ensure that each pupil is given every opportunity to fulfil his/her potential.

Key skills and experience needed:

* QTS is essential
* Teaching experience in SEND settings
* Previous support work with EBD students is essential
* A firm presence and strong behaviour management
* Professional manner, proactive, engaging and empathetic
* Enthusiastic, friendly, patient and determined approach
* Good Classroom Management Skills
* Knowledge of Curriculum and Standards
* Knowledge of Subject Matter
