A special school in the Seaford area is looking to recruit a learner support worker to join their successful student support team. This school has a creative approach to learning and all students have the ability to perform to their best abilities because of the excellent support system the school provides. You would be working with children aged 4 to 13 who are all on various levels of the Autistic spectrum which comes with its challenges but as well as its strengths.

Your responsibilities will include:
Support the pastoral needs of the learners.
Be an active part in setting the learning environment.
Assist students during class making sure they are on track.
Liaise with class teacher to ensure a smooth running class.
Supervision of children during their playtimes/lunch breaks.
Supporting learners on a 1:1 base and part of a small group in a range of activities through out the day

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities:
Be flexible in their approach to education
Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team
Have an understanding of the students with emotional needs
Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties
Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects
