Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, Term-Time Only
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students aged 11-16 with special educational needs, including Autism. You will work alongside our dedicated teaching team, providing assistance both in the classroom and during practical, outdoor activities like Bushcraft and life skills sessions. Your contribution will be key to their academic and personal growth.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
- Help students achieve the goals set out in their Education and Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
- Use personalized, positive behaviour strategies to support individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety issues.
- Foster positive social interactions and encourage teamwork among students.
Who We're Looking For:
Experience is not essential-enthusiasm and a commitment to working with young people are. Ideal candidates will have:
- A strong desire to work with young people and build supportive relationships.
- The ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
- A positive, creative approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
