We are looking for an experienced teacher who wants to work alongside pupils with sensory impairment. The school is based in Bolton and you will be working with pupils aged between 2 and 16. The school provides a caring, secure and supportive environment in which all children are respected and encouraged to develop their full potential.

The school has several aims, including:
*To provide all sensory impaired pupils with the highest quality of education and support according to their needs.
*To give all pupils every opportunity to succeed by developing their full potential.
*In the Hearing Impaired Service and School, to use a full spectrum of spoken and sign communication to accommodate individual needs as a means of enriching understanding and expression. We will strive to create meaningful interaction as an effective tool for learning.
*In the Visually Impaired Service we strive to access all pupils to sources of learning and participation with their sighted peers and reach their full potential. The aim is to enable them to understand a world which they cannot see well and to maximise cognitive involvement with this world through enlightened teaching, leading to opportunities for a full and successful life.

The responsibilities of this role are:
*To support students with sensory impairment
*To teach several subjects of the school curriculum
*To use BSL to communicate with hearing impaired pupils
*To track the progress of pupils and use this to differentiate lessons depending on strengths and weaknesses of pupils

The requirements for this role are:
*A DBS on the update service
*A teaching qualification
*Being confident in using BSL
*A dedication to helping pupils to achieve their best in their education
