Working with special needs students is a rewarding career in which you guide, support and comfort students who may find everyday tasks challenging which is why I am looking for an SEND teacher who has the compassion needed to preform this role and who is dedicated and committed to providing the best guidance and support through out the day for its students.

A specialised school and college situated in the Crawley area are looking for a teacher who can join their outstanding school and make a difference to their students.

This lovely school and college are designed to meet the educational, behavioural, care and therapeutic needs for students (age 5-19 years). The children and young adults have a range of special needs including Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and general learning disabilities.

Your role will include:
* Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons.
* Assist students during class making sure they are on track.
* Liaise with support staff to ensure a smooth running class.
* Enabling learners to access the curriculum.
* Support the pastoral needs of the learners.
* Be an active part in setting the learning environment.
* Using your interests to engage learners in learning.


Key skills and experience needed:
* Qualified teacher status is desirable but not essential.
* Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties.
* Have an understanding of the students with emotional needs.
* Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
* Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.
* The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
* Be flexible in your approach to education.
