- Provide robust academic and emotional support to students, managing the classroom dynamics with a calm, consistent, and structured approach.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and parents to create a cohesive and highly effective support network for each student.
- Monitor, record, and report on student progress, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained and EHCP targets are actively pursued.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Proven experience teaching students with SEN, ideally within a specialist or post-16 setting. Experience with semi-formal learning pathways is highly desirable.
- A strong, demonstrable track record in implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and effective de-escalation techniques.
- The ability to create a nurturing yet structured classroom environment that fosters both academic and personal growth.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, with a passionate commitment to the holistic development of young people.
- A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one promptly).
What We Offer
- A competitive salary structure, reflecting your valuable QTS and SEN experience.
- The chance to join a welcoming Sixth Form with a clear commitment to staff development and continuous professional learning, particularly in specialist areas.
- An ASAP start for the right candidate, allowing you to quickly make a significant impact.
