This small setting provides bespoke support for children aged 6-11 years with communication difficulties typically associated with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism. The school provides a learning structure and environment conducive to this specific student profile, designed to help them re-engage with learning and enjoy school life. With the right support, most students have the opportunity to achieve academic success and can work towards GCSEs and equivalent qualifications.
The team are looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant, with experience in SEN/EBD to join their team.

Your role would involve:
-Building relationships to help pupils feel supported and safe enabling them to enjoy and learn
-Promoting and encouraging independence and personal development
-Promoting pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural and physical development
-Supporting the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class
-Being flexible and being able to respond to the varying and changing needs of the school
-Some physical intervention may be needed upon occasion, full training on this will be provided.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
-GCSE 'C' in Maths and English or equivalent
-Experience of working in a special school environment is desirable, but not essential
-Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification is desirable, but not essential
-Team TEACH Training is desirable, but not essential
