A specialised school situated in the East Grinstead area is looking for a teaching assistant who can join their thriving school and college to make a difference to their students.

This specialised school is a charity based school designed to meet the educational, behavioural, care and therapeutic needs for children and adults (age 6 - 25 years). The children and adults have a range of special needs including Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and epilepsy.

Your role as an SEN teaching assistant will include:
* Assist students during class making sure they are on track.
* Liaise with class teacher to ensure a smooth running class.
* Enabling learners to access the curriculum.
* Support the pastoral needs of the learners.
* Be an active part in setting the learning environment.
* Supporting students on a 1:1 base and part of a small group in a range of activities through out the day.
* Using your interests to engage learners in learning.

Key skills and experience needed:
* Experience working with people with special needs
* Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties including epilepsy and autism.
* Have an understanding of students with emotional needs.
* Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
* Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.
* The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
* Be flexible in your approach to education.
