job description

Are you a teaching assistant looking for part-time work? Do you want to make a difference to a child's learning experience? A school in the Ely area are looking for a teaching assistant to help support the learning of children with additional needs on a part-time basis.

The small village school are currently in need of additional support in the mornings from an experience Teaching Assistant who has worked with pupils with SEN or challenging behaviour. There are many resources at the school to support your work with these children, including quiet rooms, concentration boards and standing desks.

Other benefits will be:

* A dedicated Randstad consultant
* Competitive rates of daily pay
* Support from an amazing senior leadership team
* The chance to make a difference!

The school's vision includes communication, aspiration and well being - meaning that there is a huge focus on allowing children to explain what they are thinking and feeling, while having support from counsellors and coaches in the school.

You will play a vital role in keeping the school's day streamlined with little disruption. Your responsibilities will include:

* Keeping the pupils focused on their class work
* Keeping disruption in the class to a minimum
* Working 1:1 with the child in a quiet space when required
* Speaking to parents about the pupil's progress
* Liaising with senior leadership and support workers when necessary

Due to the nature of the role, we require someone who:

* Has previous experience working with SEN pupils
* Is flexible and reliable
* Has GCSE level Maths and English
* Has good communication skills both written and verbally.

The ideal candidate will be a friendly but firm individual who can really sink their teeth into a role. You will need to be able to take direction and follow instructions, but also use your initiative as working with SEN pupils is an ever-changing environment.

This is a great opportunity with the chance of a permanent role coming out of it, and we are expecting a high level of applicants. Apply online today or submit your CV to natalie.hawkins@randstadeducation.co.uk
