Working with special needs students is a rewarding career in which you guide, support and comfort students who may find everyday tasks challenging which why I am looking for a teaching assistant who has the compassion needed to preform this role.

A specialised school situated in the Guildford area is looking for a teaching assistant who can join their thriving school and make a difference to their students.

This outstanding school is designed to meet the educational, behavioural, care and therapeutic needs for children (age 6-19 years). The students have a range of special needs including general learning disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

Your role will require:
* Engage with the learners to keep them on task
* Liaise with teacher to ensure all learners are supported
* Assist during break duty, outings and class activities
* Deliver 1:1 or small group focused lessons when required

The ideal candidate may posses the following skills and capabilities:
* To provide teaching assistance to the teacher defined according to weekly/daily/sessional planning of the teacher
* To provide group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
* To work individually with learners/students to develop work.
* To support the general well being of learners within the structure of the school
* To monitor and evaluate learners' learning under the guidance of the teacher
* To assist teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
* To support all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas
