Working with special needs students is a rewarding career in which you guide, support and comfort students who may find everyday tasks challenging.

I am recruiting for a teaching assistant to join an "Outstanding" SEN school and College in the Dunsfold area. You will need the compassion to preform this role and feel dedicated and committed to providing the best guidance and support through out the day for the students (aged 6-19). You will be working with a group of warm and welcoming staff and be supported by the management to progress within your career.

The position is a full time and permanent, with start from November 2018.

Your role will require:
* To provide teaching assistance to the teacher defined according to weekly/daily/sessional planning of the teacher
* To provide group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
* To work individually with learners/students to develop work.
* To support the general well being of learners within the structure of the school
* To monitor and evaluate students' learning under the guidance of the teacher
* To assist teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
* To support all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas

The ideal candidate may posses the following skills and capabilities:
 Own means of transport is essential
 Be able to work with students with autism
 Have an understanding of the students with special needs
 Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
 Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects
 The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team
 Be flexible in your approach to education
 Have experience working in SEND settings is desirable but not essential
