A lovely specialised school near the Lancing area is looking for a teaching assistant to work in the design technology department of their school. The school support children from ages 7 to 14 who are on the autistic spectrum. Working with autistic learners can be challenging but it will have its strengths and rewards.

Responsibilities will include:
Ability to lead and manage 1:1 and group sessions in DT sessions
Supporting learners through out their school day
Aide in planning and preparing DT lessons with class teacher
Assess and monitor learner's progress

The ideal candidate may posses the following skills and capabilities:
Good maths and English skills
Have an understanding of the students with complex emotional needs.
Have a good understanding of the needs of autistic learners
Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
