A leading, well established SEN School in Bradford is looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant as their go-to supply cover. They are in need of a TA who is able to come into the school on a regular basis to cover staff illness, training or leave, to provide essential and life changing support to their pupils with learning difficulties. The successful applicant will have Team Teach qualification, SEN/PMLD experience, personal care experience or willingness, as well as the flexibility to work in a variety of classes when the need arises. The successful applicant does not need to commit to any specific hours, but should generally be available to work throughout the week.

The role will involve assisting the class teacher with children with complex needs, supporting the students individually and in groups with core subjects, engaging with their work and keeping on task with their learning. The role may occasionally have aspects of personal care, supporting students with trips to the bathroom and supporting with life skills.

The role will include:
Providing assistance to the class teacher
To manage small groups of children independently
To work 1:1 with students to help develop their work
To support the general well-being of the students in the school
To monitor and evaluate pupils learning under the guidance of the teacher
To assist the teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place

A caring, patient and calm personality
Ability to work with students with a variety of learning difficulties
Have an understanding of children with special needs
