The school which is set in the London Borough of Lewisham are looking to appoint a suitably qualified teaching assistant or graduate who is keen to aid the secondary educational journey of each pupil by means of providing support contributing to students becoming independent and confident learners.

The school is recognised for it's emphasis of high quality support for both students and staff which is mirrored in its recent results where 95.2% of students achieved GCSE grades 9-1 or equivalent in both English and Maths and Ofsted judged the school "Good" in all areas.

You will be part of a team who work with students who are not currently based in mainstream, they are referred for a number of reasons ranging from behaviour, to specific educational needs that cannot always be met in a mainstream setting. It is therefore key to create a nurturing and caring atmosphere and environment for these students to feel safe and encouraged to learn.

This role will be full time with a view of an immediate start (negotiable)

The ideal candidate will have:

* Experience within a similar work setting
* Experience in working with pupils with additional needs
* Relevant qualifications and certified training courses relating to Education/Social Work/ Youth Work.
* Understanding of, and interest in, working with young people.
* Knowledge and experience of the importance of cultural identity to children/young people.

Your responsibilities will include:
