job description

Do you want to have a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people?

Do you have experience in a similar role within a PRU, SEN school/inclusion or children's residential home?

If this is the case, Randstad Education would love to speak with you!

The school we are working with specialise in providing day education for pupils in KS3 - KS4. The majority of students have behavioural difficulties, combined in some cases with emotional and social complexities.

You will be part of a team who work with students not currently based in mainstream schooling. This can be as a result of depression, trauma, low self-esteem or confidence, challenging behaviours or anxiety. It is therefore key to create a nurturing and caring environment so that these students will feel safe and encouraged to learn.

We are looking for suitable candidates who are able to work on a 1:1 basis to provide individual support and educational work.

No QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is required; however, the ability to deliver core subjects such as English, Maths and Science to a basic level would be desirable.

A career at this school can offer you:

* Excellent resources to support teaching and learning
* An approachable and established leadership team
* High-quality CPD leading to excellent professional development
* The opportunity to be part of a thriving new team
* The opportunity to make a positive impact on vulnerable young peoples' lives

The ideal candidate will have:

* Experience covering classes
* A commitment to continuous professional development
* Relevant qualifications and certified training courses relating to Education/Social Work/Youth Work
* An understanding of working with young people
* An appreciation for the importance of cultural identity to children/young people

Your responsibilities will include:

* Maintaining a commitment to working with diversity and undertaking all work in an anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory way
* Being a positive role model
* Keeping records and attending review meetings
* Demonstrating reliability and commitment to work, recognising the need to be punctual and working within the agreed timescales

If you feel that you would be suitable for this position then please apply today!
