Do you want to gain experience within a school setting and work with some amazing pupils with Special Education Needs (SEN)?

We are looking for an innovative and motivated individual to support pupils between the ages of 2 and 11 in a primary school in Salford. All of the pupils have an Education Health Care Plan and some of the pupils have profound, complex or challenging needs. Pupils identified needs are profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), multiple learning difficulties (MLD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Some pupils also have complex medical needs. The school provides a safe, stimulating environment in which all pupils have the opportunity to succeed. The responsibilities of this role include:
*Supporting the teacher in lessons and classroom management
*Helping to deliver engaging lesson to pupils
*To attend and participate in any relevant meetings
*To help children with their additional care needs (e.g. toileting, feeding)

The requirements for the role are:
*Experience working with children or adults with additional care needs
*A DBS on the update service
*Be committed to working with pupils to help them to achieve their best
*To support the pupils by understanding their individualised education programme (IEP), their level of progress and their communication systems (e.g. PECS / Signalong / Objects of Reference/Symbols)
