Senior Design Engineer - Powertrain Integration required on a permanent basis to join an industry leading engineering and manufacturing business.

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity at the forefront of off highway machine technology? Do you have a background strategically controlling the design and development of components and drivetrain systems? Have you got experience of working in a fast paced R&D / Engineering environment? If you are seeking an exciting technical challenge then this is the role for you!

As the senior design engineer engineer you will lead and provide Design capability during New Product Developments and design support for current and legacy product range.

Key responsibilities:

* Being responsible for generation and delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements, relevant standards and other constraints
* Being responsible for the conceptual development for new product
* Participate in developing and maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures
* Supporting the identification of business opportunities
* Problem solving on existing products and product improvement
* Being responsible for evaluating technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions
* Planning, controlling and delivering assigned projects, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan, budget and costs
* Preparing and delivering progress reports against project plans
* Working alongside the customer on new and existing product development ensuring delivery of solutions to meet the customer's requirements
* Keeping up to date in relevant technical areas, developing skills and capabilities, and giving support and expertise to others as required
* Actively participate in business unit improvement activities
* Where required, to manage engineers in both work activities and personal development

Experience required:

* Mechanical Degree/HND or suitable mechanical engineering design experience
* Experience of 3D CAD design environment
* Have a hands-on approach to engineering design and development
* Substantial knowledge and experience of full drive line development on vehicles
* Ability to work independently and lead a team
* Excellent technical aptitude
* Previous experience of leading engineering projects/activities
* Planning and priority setting
* Experience of mobile off-highway equipment
* Experience in the use of PRO-Engineer
* Experience of components and sub-systems used on off-highway equipment including drive train and hydraulics
* Experience of lean manufacturing and design for assembly.
