My client is a large multinational business looking to add to their UK team. They are a well known and profesional business involved in the largest UK infrastructure project in the UK at present.

We are searching for a senior ecologist who has experience in a more office based role. The position is to oversee and manage the production of paperwork, permits, methodologies for ecological mitigation works and to ensure the mitigation strategy works.

Roles and Responsibilities


* To provide ecological support to the team and have responsibilities under the following work packages: Area Wide Environmental.
* Creation of mitigation methodologies for various protected species including Badger, Bat, GCN and Barn Owl.
* Coordinate ecological mitigation and completion of licence applications.
* Oversee and co-ordinate the implementation of mitigation programs.
* Manage and co-ordinate survey data and liaise with Area Wide Survey team.
* Ecological support to general/other Work Packages
* To fulfil the role of Ecological support and provide assurance and ensure compliance with relevant Technical Standards.


The ideal candidate will ideally be;

* HNC/degree qualified
* Valid CSCS
* Ecologist with experience of working on design and construction phases of large-scale linear infrastructure projects.
* Experience of implementing ecological mitigation and preparation of licence applications.
* Chartered or member of relevant ecological/environmental institute.
* Co-ordination of subcontractors and teams of ecologists
* Experience in the planning process and dealing with local authorities
* Experience of working on complicated ecological survey and mitigation schemes
