We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive and confident Principal Flood and Coastal Risk Management Specialist to join the Flood Risk and Water Management team of a top consultancy in the UK. This exciting role gives you the opportunity to be based from one of their UK offices but work nationwide.

As the Senior Flood Risk Specialist you will work closely with the exiting flood risk team, including modellers, civil engineers and flood risk specialists. This is an amazing opportunity to lead and identify as a professional to train and manage junior staff and grow the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



* Hydraulic modelling of river, sewer or coastal processes
* Flood estimation handbook hydrological analysis methods, including the statistical analysis method, ReFH
* Be responsible for the technical quality of work carried out within the team, provide supervision of projects, review and check work and provide leading technical skills as a technical specialist with minimal guidance
* Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues and wok co-operatively across functions and business units to share information and ideas
* Work closely with other senior staff to enable delivery of the wider team's workload

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:



* Degree qualified
* Chartered or working towards chartership of a recognised professional body
* Experience of working with the Environment Agency, developers or Local authorities in the context of flood risk management
* Proficient in the use of TuFlow, ISIS or InfoWorks, hydraulic modelling software packages and relevant supporting software packages
* Extensive technical skill in heir nominated technical specialism
* Experience managing the technical delivery of projects/packages of work
* Previous experience undertaking quality assurance reviews and audits of technical works undertaken by others
