I am currently recruiting for a site mnager on a permanent basis to work for a tier 1 contractor that are looking to expand their team.
Summary of Role:
Reporting to the appointed Contract / Project / Construction Manager the Site Manager is responsible for managing an individual or series of projects (dependant upon size or complexity) in respect to the construction of a project. They will ensure that all works are managed and coordinated to deliver on safety, quality and environmental objectives.
The Site Manager will ensure that all works, including those of suppliers and subcontractors are completed to programme, budget and quality standards expected and in a professional and ethical manner adhering to commercial guidelines, established best practice and professional/company standards.
Promote the development of team members and actively encourage effective relationships.
In the senior site representative function they are ultimately responsible for the resourcing, development and leadership of a team, defining and communicating contract objectives and constraints and complying with health, safety and environmental legislation, thereby delivering the end product on time, within budget and to the agreed quality.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Ensure that the works are undertaken in accordance with all HS&E legislation,S&E Policies, procedures & Minimum Safety Standards, and the site Health Safety and Environmental Plans.
* Manage subcontractors, service providers & operatives to construct the works safely.
* Review, produce & monitor Task Control Sheets & method statements for all works
* Ensure site inductions are carried out
* Puts safety first and instills this in subcontractors and suppliers.
* Ensure that works are coordinated to ensure suitable safe access and segregation is maintained.
* Ensures that suitable welfare is in place and maintained.
* Make efficient use of standard IT packages to efficiently manage own time.
* Use specialist software to assist in project delivery for example CAD, 4Projects, COINS for ordering plant etc.
* Understand project objectives and communicate to site teams.
* Sets up teams to complete sections of work.
* Recognises change on site and retains records as required by the established change control process.
* Assists in establishing procedures to ensure that all safety documentation is collated and retained for example scaffold inspection records, PUWER records etc.
* Participates in knowledge share events.
* Develops day to day plan for site operations from project programme.
* Fully aware of the resource requirements to effectively complete a section of work.
* Familiar with supply chain procedures.
* Makes effective use of A Plant.
* Manages site activities to ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with the method statements, that they remain on target and takes action as required to rectify problems.
* Effectively manages site reporting such as record sheets, site diary etc.
* Familiar with COINS, monitoring of PPE, costs from ongoing hire etc.
* Ensures that robust on site procedures are established and employed and undertakes daily checks.
* Undertakes regular checks to ensure workforce are meeting quality requirements.
* Implements , updates and reports on the Inspection & Test Plan
* Undertakes regular checks to ensure workforce are meeting quality requirements.
* Undertakes weekly recorded site inspections for all ongoing activities
* Undertakes weekly recorded site inspections for temp works such as hoardings, scaffolds, Haki stairs etc.
* Evaluates and selects from options based on evidence from various sources.
* Able to understand new and innovative technologies.
* Records outcomes and advises others on potential improvements.
* Seeks opportunities to improve on provided information for commercial or practical benefit.
* Identifies and defines problems that require a solution.
* Engages with designers / subcontractors to develop conceptual and detailed solutions to problems.
Qualifications:
Must have: SMSTS/First Aid/Black CSCS
Professional Membership:
Desired: MCIOB
